Happy Birthday Ashlyn!
Then, she was off to school and we didn't see her the whole day - which we've never done before. She's always been home on her birthday - so it was a bit sad for me not to celebrate the whole day with her. She did get some surprises at school though! We hid a card from the family in her folder and 2 presents in her lunchbox. She called home after lunch to say thank you - she's such a sweet girl!
After school, we got ready for family to come over for a little birthday party. She had a beach-y theme with flip-flops. Here's a picture of the cake. If only it had tasted as good as it looked! It was a coconut cream pound cake with chocolate coconut cream cheese filling and frosting. I made everything from scratch, and it was just ok - what a bummer. All of the kids threw theirs in the trash. I don't blame them - it wasn't the greatest! The flip flops are made out of cake and decorated with candy.
Ashlyn got a lot of great presents, and some cash too! Thanks, everyone, for being so generous!
Her best friend, Madison, came to the party too.
I love this series of pictures:
Sing the Song
Think of the wish
Wish it with all your might
Blow out the candles!
(Notice Noelle helping in the pictures!)
We can't believe she is 9 already - time passes too quickly!

Some Recent Pictures
Gracie's new favorite pastime is books: tearing them apart and reading them; both make her giggle. ( I LOVE this dress!)
She loves her daddy!
Notice the ringlets forming at the back of her hair! I think this picture of Ian is priceless. Not only is he so handsome, but I can just see his love for his baby. He's such a great Daddy.
Nothing like relaxing with a car after a long day at church!
Picking Pumpkins
We went to the best Pumpkin Patch last week. (It is on 11800 S. and 3200 W.) They have about 10 tractors all lined up and the kids can sit on each one. Shaylor was in HEAVEN! He giggled the whole time! That is, when he wasn't cranking the steering wheels back and forth and going, "Brrrooooom, brrrooooom." They have a lot of places for cute pictures. They also have a great little corn maze. I would highly recommend anyone that lives nearby to go and check it out! We got some cute little pumpkins. (I had no idea how inexpensive it was to get pumpkins from a patch instead of at the store) I can't wait to decorate them...and then blog about decorating them! :) Here are some pictures from our fun night!
Someday those sweet little feet will reach the pedals...and he'll be taller than the wheels!
Watch out, Shaylor, the boogie-man is comin' to getcha!!
