Fall Colors

We have the most beautiful scenery around us. Fall is my favorite time of year and these trees are partly the reason why. This is taken from our front yard down our street. It is gorgeous.

Our big trees in front are just starting to turn red.

It is so beautiful here and I'm so grateful that we live where we do.

The Next Morning

While the whole world is fast asleep after a late night of Halloween fun, we had no choice (Thanks, Shaylor) but to get up early and start on the Saturday chores. I took some pictures to share the fun so you all know what you missed.

Shaylor played in the piles of leaves Ian and I raked.

Ever-responsible, caring, selfless Ashlyn came to see what she could do to help and put the leaves in the trash can for us.

Noelle jumped rope - she's getting quite good! (What?...There's work to be done?...Where? - She's all about playing most of the time - as a 7 year old should be!) I love the close-up of her - it captures her very essence!

Sweet Gracie was asleep while this was going on...until Mommy came in and started flashing lights in her eyes. She's saying, "Put the camera down mom and get me out of this thing!" We're growing out her bangs, and rarely see her beautiful eyes these days because she refuses to keep anything in her hair.

And poor Maisy has to look on from the window. She would love to come out and play with us, but she always runs away and I wasn't in the mood to go around the neighborhood waking everyone up with, "Maaaaaaaaaaisyyyyyyyyy."

Halloween!

So, these pictures don't need much explaining.

Ashlyn was Spiderella - complete with fake eyelashes.

Noelle was a Snow Princess.

Shaylor was a Pirate. He went up and down our street and then we dropped him off at home to help hand out candy - which he thought was great.

Gracie was a Bumblebee. (But only for the sake of pictures. She stayed home and handed out candy with Ian) Love that stinger!

Amy was Ian.

Maisy was just happy to get dressed up...and fed! (She doesn't get as much attention as she deserves. She's a good dog.)

We had so much fun trick-or-treating. We had the most beautiful weather. We stayed out on the porch talking and handing out candy in t-shirts and bare feet. Keep in mind that 5 years ago, we got 2 feet of snow while trick-or-treating, and you'll understand how much we appreciated the great weather.
