All I'm Askin...is for a little RESPECT!

Last night, it was time to get Shaylor ready for bed. This is my conversation with him:

"Shaylor, let's go to your room to get your jammies on."

"NOOOOoooooooooooo." (Said in a very roller-coaster, whiny voice)

"Shaylor, when Mommy asks you to do something, you need to be respectful and say, 'ok Mommy,' and then obey."
(Yes, he knows what 'respectful' and 'obey' mean. This isn't our first conversation on the two principles.)
"So, let's try this again. Shaylor, it's time to go to your room and get your jammies on. Let's go!"

He replied with a very sweet smile, "No thank you, Mommy."

As Ian covered his face with a book to hide his laughter, I realized that Shaylor had won this round.

"Thank you Shaylor, that was much more respectful." :)
