A-Camping We Will Go!

Ian went hunting for turkeys with his Dad and Uncle in New Mexico at the end of April. He came home (empty-handed) and waited until we were alone to drop 'the bomb.'
"I need to talk to you about something," he said, "I really want to buy a camping trailer."
"Oh, do you now?" I asked.
He then proceeded to talk me into it!
We bought one a couple of weeks ago. It isn't fancy, but it is SO FUN! We took our first trip this past Friday night. We went up to Midway, and did NOT freeze (so there!). It was really fun, and it was honest-to-goodness real quality family time. (Just like he said it would be!)

We got there and set up, and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. When the sun went down, and the temperature instantly dropped, we just packed ourselves in the trailer and played games and colored and had fun together!

Our super-awesome trailer has a triple bunk, and yours truly happened to find a matching comforter and sheet set to the ones I bought 8 years ago for my girls. Score!
(FYI: It also has a separate bedroom for Ian and I, and a couch that turns into a bed for Shaylor and a table that turns into another bed. It can sleep 9!)

Saturday, we stayed in our nicely-heated trailer and played games and watched movies (we never claimed to want to 'rough it,' so give us a break about the watching movies while we're camping part!).
When the sun came out and we felt like we wouldn't freeze, we ventured out for a little nature hike. We saw a snail shell and moose prints and elk prints and heard a rustling in the bushes.
It was all very exciting. We let the kids lead the way and they had a blast!

On our way home later that afternoon, we stopped by a park with a pond and fed the ducks and played for a while.

Gracie still loves the slide best!

(Noelle after she jumped down from the Monkey Bars.)

I'm thinking Ian's idea was a pretty good one.
After all, they won't be this little for long.

Yah, I'd say that was an EXCELLENT investment. I'm lovin' the triple bunks. It has SO much room!!

Any time you need some camping company...I'm not really a camper, but games and movies and nature?

I'm so there...
